About Us
Un Petit Bonjour classes are run by Kay Beardsworth who is a well-qualified teacher with over 13 years experience of teaching modern languages. Having studied language learning methodology at University in England and France she has extensive experience of putting the theory into practice having taught children of all ages and adults on both sides of the channel. Her qualifications include:
- BA(Hons) in French and Linguistics
- TEFL certificate
- PGCE
- Maîtrise FLE (equivalent to Masters degree in teaching French)
Kay has also worked as a mentor in training new teachers. As a Mum to two young children herself, Kay knows first-hand what young children enjoy and what is important to their parents.

- trained in emergency first aid procedures
We set up Un Petit Bonjour in 2008 because we want to pass on a love of speaking French through providing young children with opportunities to listen, sing, play and learn French through having fun.
We strongly believe that it is an enormous advantage for young children to start learning a foreign language at a young age. It is a real pleasure to hear young children speak their first words in a foreign language and to see their understanding improve and their confidence grow week by week.
